RENT joke on Will & Grace

Who saw?

RENT joke on Will & Grace

Grace asked how the trip was, and the response: "she made me listen to the RENT soundtrack, so it felt like 525,600 miles."

re: RENT joke on Will & Grace

Hey--

This probably belongs on another thread but I'm too tired to look all the way down onto the other pages: Why does no one seem to discuss the fact that Tom Collins is named after a DRINK?!? No jokes about that in the movie either. When I saw the film a few weeks ago, after not really recalling the characters' names years ago when I saw it on Broadway, my first thought was "Larson named him after a drink and nobody's saying a thing about it!"
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland

lovepuppy - the first time I heard the name I thought about that. I figured I was stupid for thinking so...guess I'm just stupid for other reasons! Woohoo!

re: RENT joke on Will & Grace

There's a drink named Tom Collins? So that's why the people in the movie theater laugh at his introduction. I'm so behind...
"`I grow old... I grow old... I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.` What does that mean, Mr. Marlowe?" "Not a bloody thing. It just sounds good." He smiled. "That is from the `Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.` Here's another one. `In the room women come and go/Talking of Michael Angelo.' Does that suggest anything to you, sir?" "Yeah -- it suggests to me that the guy didn't know very much about women." "My sentiments exactly, sir. Nonetheless I admire T. S. Eliot very much." "Did you say, 'nonetheless'?" - The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler

No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.
