I really enjoyed RENT when I saw it (three amazing times) several years ago. How has it held up over the years? Is it crazily dated or does it still pack a whallop? Anyone?

I've seen the show so many times over the past nine years that it's almost embarrassing but I still enjoy seeing it occasionally. It's always a moving show and I like seeing different actors in each role.
I've seen it 3 times recently, like within the last 3 years and it is definately not outdated. I was too young to see it when it first came out, but i loved it when i finally saw it. The music and story is just so powerful and someone, even though it's about AIDS in the 80's, you can really relate to anyone you've loved whose left you. I saw it this past November, a few months after one of my best friends passed in a car accident, a month after her 16th birthday. I felt the message about how much people can touch your lives, however they leave the world. The no day but today motto also stood true not just because AIDS can kill you, but because a life cna be over in a flash and you should live each day to the fullest
Saw it once, it was different....UNIQUE, if you're used to every-day happy-go-lucky musicals!

i've seen it soo many times in even just the past year. i don't know. i love it just as much as when i saw it for the first time years ago. i love the current cast. i think they're amazing. they were all sitting next to me at Cary Shield's bands(Poncho)gig at the bitter end. One of the cast members Nick even sat at our table. I was pretty excited
I haven't seen it yet, but I might next year if that's one of the choices my director makes for the musicals for band/chorus/drama to see. We're seeing two of them and Rent, Wicked, and Avenue Q are up there, but my director makes the final decision. I really hope it's Wicked and Avenue Q, but Wicked and Rent would be amazing as well. Who is currently the Broadway production of Rent?
I have seen it wayyyy too many times, and each time I see it, there is a member of the cast who is the best I've ever seen, and a member of the cast who is the worst I've ever seen...but overall, I feel that the cast now is VERY, VERY strong.

horrible, boomy sound in this past Monday's performance. The worst i've heard in the 10 times I've seen it.

I saw the tour in november and adored it...I recently saw it on Broadway and it felt VERY dated to me...it was sad.
