Have a little faith, guys. Shrek didn't turn out anywhere near as bad as some predicted.
I'm buying my tickets the day they come out - come on, it's f***ing Spider-Man!

Are the group sales really "through the roof" as this article states?
I can't wait to see this thing... whether it's good or bad, successful or not. I'll pay full price for the first time in years to see this.

Posted: 3/26/09 at 4:56pmThis has got my interest, I'll probably try to get tickets for around opening, being I have a feeling many changes will be made during previews since there is no out-of-town tryout.

I am trying to imagine them pulling off action scenes where they don't look like theme park stage shows with the way-too-obvious pulled punches and over-choreographed tumbles and my imagination is just not rich enough to get me there.
I hope they prove me wrong.

Posted: 3/26/09 at 5:56pmComics and theatre--my two great loves. Half of me is so friggin excited for this and half of me knows it will probably be a huge turd. But hey, at least it is guaranteed to be the prettiest turd there ever was!

Posted: 3/26/09 at 7:00pmThe sheer campiness of Swiss MIss has me sold. Now where do I go to buy a ticket?

I was there too.
Of the five "nobodies" mentioned in the article: Matt Caplan (Rent, High Fidelity, South Pacific), Anisha Nagarajan (Bombay Dreams) and Reeve Carney (a great singer/actor who I believe is connected to Taymor through the upcoming The Tempest).
I loved the set design, constant moment, creating a comic book/pop-up effect of bringing New York to life. And the music, while uniquely U2, was diverse enough to showcase different characters, and I think give show the energy it deserves.
