Very sad news. A true original. I feel truly lucky to have seen her on stage several times. Listening to Henry, Sweet Henry in her honor.

This is sad news to me. I saw Alice Playten portray Baby Louise in GYPSY and she was the best Baby Louise of all the young actresses who took on that role.
Not to take anything away from Alice Playten, but if you bring up her singing of "Poor Little Person" from HENRY! SWEET HENRY on the link from the above poster, after discovering her impressive belting you can enjoy a completely unrelated You Tube attraction by bringing up "The London Medley" by touching the top box to the side.
"The London Medley" is from an impressive 1963 flop THE GIRL WHO CAME TO SUPPER which featured Jose Ferrer and Florence Henderson and the vibrant Tessie O'Shea. "The London Medlley" closed the first act with this terrific ensemble number which brought the house down. In another impressive number, "The Coronation Chorale", Florence Henderson really delivers. I think this show deserved a longer run.
There is an excellent obituary of Alice Playten in today's New York Times, on line. T(Sorry, I don't know how to provide a link)
Here is a sweet interview with Playten:

I was very happy i got to see Alice in role of Bethe in Pippin at the Bay Street Theater signing the feel good song of the show. She was so nice afterwards signing Autographs and telling a few theater stories from her life.
A 1970 Mike Douglas appearance on which Alice sings an astonishing "I Happen to Like New York":
