One of those consistently good and often unflashy directors who got great performances out of his actors, guided new works to the stage, and served as a mentor to people like Sam Pinkleton and Leigh Silverman.
His return to HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE with its original stars was most impressive.

How I Learned To Drive alone would have made him special.
Add on the other dozens of shows he directed and try to absorb the loss. So sad!
