I've every confidence that Richard Kind will do spendidly in the role. As for whether he'll be "better" than Greg ... well, that is partly a matter of individual opinion as well as, certainly at this time, speculation.
I'm not sure that after Kind takes over the role, if anyone will then honestly be able to say, overall, if one of the two are "better" in the role than the other. They're two very different performers, and Kind isn't going to play the role the same way Greg has.
Greg has the advantage of being remembered as the one who created the role for stage (and remembered positively, I believe, by most people who have seen him). Richard has a different sort of advantage, which is that he will be bringing a new, fresh take on the role.
For instance, I enjoyed seeing John Lithgow as "Lawrence" at opening, and now I'm looking forward to seeing a performance with Pryce in that role. I expect I will find things, though different, that I enjoy about Pryce's performance.
There certainly may be many future show attendees who will find Kind's take on the role of "André" more to their liking.
Bottom line is, Jbara and Kind are both fine performers. DRS was fortunate to have someone of Greg's caliber in the role, and now it's fortunate to have a replacement of such caliber as Kind.
