meh...constantine...meh...It's unlikely they'll keep much of the original cast obviously. I mean, every industry needs to make a little money right now, and Constantine just won't cut it. PS: Kelly looks GORGEOUS in the publicity shot.

I don't know about student rush. I honestly don't think so, but i think the tickets are really reasonable anyway. You should definitely check it out. It's fun.

Well, I think as it is with ANY film it depends on how it's executed so to condemn it now seems a bit premature. Could be awesome, and yes I suppose it could also suck. All I know is it can't be worse than "Mamma Mia" that is for sure!!

The thing is the show is really fun and the music is great, so I am going to remain optimistic. Lot's of opportunities for great casting too! Has this ever happened to an Off Broadway show? Feels like a first but I'm sure there is some walking musical theater encyclopedia out there who knows if an off broadway show ever got a movie deal.

I saw this coming before it opened when I read New Line was involved. It's a great, fun show. With the writer doing the script and directing...shows a lot of confidence by the producers/investors in the film. We shall see. I hated Rent on film even with the original great cast. I hated the big name star brought in to Hairspray and liked it better (though not much) in the theater. And don't get me started on the lack of singing talent in the Mama Mia film. Still, it's the highest grossing musical film and doing great overseas. So, ya never know. Even if they don't use any of the current cast, it's nice for them to be a part of a bona fide hit already bought for a movie. So congrats all around.

Anyway, I hope Constantine will get his Drew part in the movie version of Rock of Ages, if it happens. He can sing and act and he originated that role here in NY. He has, after all, paid his dues too, and has done some professional musical theater productions including The Wedding Singer (2006), Jacques Brel (2007), Jesus Christ Superstar and the current Rock of Ages, and in a 10-year career, some of the other stage work, as posted at

attaching "purpose" to the making of a movie is a slippery slope. 99% of movies are made simply to entertain. judging from the show and the crowd that is entertained by ROA I would imagine it's being made for people who wouldn't think to put a pic of an "Equus" playbill as their avatar. (not a slame! just would bet the farm they aren't marketing this thing to you) It's for the masses who want to escape in "nothin' but a good time." that is all. Hollywood made "Doubt" for you :)
