I loved Ragtime. I thought it was incredibly well done and I thought the music was gorgeous.

a very important show with amazing music. One of the shows shafted by Mr Tony.
Gosh I love it. Book by E.L. Doctorow is good, show's good... just the whole Ragtime enterprise is good. I was actually in this show earlier this year... It's a great experience.
I have three words to say about Ragtime:
BRIAN STOKES MITCHELL
I havent seen the production or heard anything on the recording. The only connection I have to Ragtime is that as my nephew's voice recital someone sang 'Make Them Hear You' and I thought it was a gorgeous song... eventually I will my hands on the cast recording though...
Our high school was the first high school to do the show. I love the music and story.

One of my favorites, and the cast recording is nearly perfect. The score is beautiful, and it features some great performances form the always amazing BSM (
, Marquise), Audra, Marin, and Peter Friedman. I believe Papermill Playhouse is doing Ragtime in the spring.
You are going to thoroughly enjoy the music, story and performances---if you dont, well then POOP on you!
Seriously, the show was amazing!
Definitely one of my all time favorite musicals. I was privileged to attend its closing performance on Broadway. I would say one of the most moving shows I have ever seen. The music still gives me chills when I listen to it.

Unfortunately, Papermill is going to be doing the "minimalist" version that was done in London.

It really has some great numbers. For some reason the Henry Ford song makes me think of Stool Boom from Waiting for Guffman... Sorry, I know that was neither here nor there...

Does anyone have any song suggestions for Disc 2?

The Henry Ford song reminds me of Charles Giteau's song from ASSASSINS -
LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SIT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE LORD
THIS IS THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY
THIS IS THE SONG OF ...HENRY FORD!
It doesn't get a lot better than Marin singing Back to Before... It gives me chills every time.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!MARIN MAZZIE! BRIAN STOKES MITCHELL!!!!!!!! AUDRA MCDONALD!!!!! Does it get better? I don't think so. I LOVE this show!!!!!!!! I can't wait to do it someday (I hope! :)). No words, I can't say anything else! I am going to see Marin Mazzie live next week for the first time ever! So excited!!!!!!!!!
I love it. It's an amazing story and the score is gorgeous. Not to mention the cast is perfect!
I long to be able to play the part of Younger Brother someday. One of my all time favorite scores. I can't believe you haven't heard the music before now. I love every song. I read the book before seeing it and even did a research paper on Ragtime music because of it.
