Random "Whispering" Question

I know this is probably a really long time after it was relevant but for some reason I remember reading that "Whispering" from Spring Awakening added a part with Melchior singing during the tour. Is that true? Or am I making stuff up? If it is, what was added?

Yes, it's true. I can't remember what the lyrics were, but he was definitely singing a counter melody while sitting in the chair on the wall, which threw me a bit because I wasn't expecting it.

When did they add it? How come they didn't record it for the new English Theatre cast recording?
