A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.

What is the criteria?
Is this based just the quality of the music (without lyrics)? Or the overall scores (music & lyrics)?
Or are you asking us to rank based on personal prefrence?

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

Why those composers? Many of my favorites aren't listed such as LaChiusa, Coleman, Strouse, Styne, Herman, Lloyd Webber, Flaherty, Flynn, Adler, Porter, Cole, Gershwin, Berlin, Weill, Loewe, Schwartz, Kander, Arlen and Bock.

And Duncan Sheik??? Isn't Spring Awakening his first musical?

Sondheim by a mile

Bernstein, Rogers and Yazbek are awesome, too.

I'd love to hear more from Lippa and Brown.
