Rare showtunes#0

I am going to be starting work on my second album and I'm hunting for beautiful rare showtunes. I'd love ideas and suggestions from anyone. Can anyone suggest some great songs that are not overdone?

You can listen to my voice on my website at http://www.kenkeating.net to hear me... then suggest songs you think might be good for me to sing.

Thanks,
Ken Keating

"The Fickle Finger of Fate" --I HAD A BALL
"Right Girls" - A FAMILY AFFAIR
"I Love My Wife" - 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVE
"It's Time For a Love Song" - CARMELINA
"Orphan in the Storm" - CELEBRATION
"Born Lover" - GOODTIME CHARLEY
"Where in the World" - THE SECRET GARDEN (Simon/Norman version)
"A Quiet Girl" - WONDERFUL TOWN
"Why God Why" - MISS SAIGON
"Moon In My Pocket" - ROBERT AND ELIZABETH

I'm not certain whether or not these are considered rare. I just named them off the top of my head. I picked solo male vocals, but tell me if you're interested in singing any song types. There is such a vast amount of underplayed jewels out there! lol

"Blame it on a Summer Night" from Rags

A woman sings it in the show, but it could easily be sung by a man and I think it would fit your voice/style nicely.

STRANGE AND WONDERFUL by Harold Rome from GONE WITH THE WIND.

Gorgeous melody with an odd but lovely lyric that makes its own sense.

Good Luck

"Why Was I Born" by Jerome Kern. Originally a woman's song but a beautiful high tenor type. Sorry it's 1:00 and I'm a little delerious...

Cheers,

C.
