How would you feel about this?

Well, I guess if anything could get me to see that show again that would be it.

(To the initial idea, not any of the replies.)
Hahahahaha
His name was tossed around quite a bit on the boards when they were casting the "revival." But it went something like:
"How about this role?"
"He's too old."
"And this one?"
"Nope, he's too young."
"And the other dude?"
"Nope, that wouldn't work either."
The general consensus was that he didn't quite fit any of the male roles in the show; I don't know Les Mis well enough to be really give an educated weigh-in on which roles would or wouldn't work for him, but there are definitely songs in that score I wouldn't hate to hear him sing.

There's only one thing I can say about this: "Shut up, Patti LuPone!"
Apparently I'm not the only one who didn't get it.
And really, given that I practically fell asleep when I saw the original run, I wouldn't expect myself to get a Les Mis joke. But, CPD, if I were you, I wouldn't regard myself as being in a place to comment about people not "getting" things.

Isn't that kind of how the revival turned out, anyway?
Ironically, yes. Although I guess you could argue that Alex Gemignani (hell if I ever learn to spell that right) looks much older than he actually is. I was shocked to learn how young he is, actually.

luvtheemcee, are you involved with the production?
Les Mis? No. What did I say to make you think that? I said his name was tossed around on the boards, meaning by people here on BWW.

Oh,sorry. There was a time when "on the boards" meant on/about Broadway.
I know. I thought given that we were having the discussion ON the message board that'd have been implied, but point taken.
We can't all be as brilliant as you.
Or as whatever as you.
I admit that I should have been clearer, so your post is therefore invalid.
But by all means, let's have a repeat of last night.

I agree with the sentiment that he really doesn't fit any of the charecters well.
Just because someone is a good actor, doesn't mean they are right for every role.
Maybe in twenty or thirty years. I think he is very versatile.

He isn't a good enough singer. I cringe at the thought of him singing some of those high notes.
"versatile"
Did a spit take on that one.

And if he's real good. He'll make you feel good...
I was thinking of a different "gay" meaning, but that was good ROCKABYE.
