Munk - Raul Julia's run in Nine was a little over 20 years ago. How old were you when you saw him?

Just so I'm understanding, then you're comparing the video of Raul's Nine to seeing Antonio live?

I don't think it's that Antonio "doesn't know about diction." I didn't find his speech a problem - this is the first I've heard of it. Maybe the problem was in your hearing rather than his speech. I knew everything he said. Plus, I don't enjoy Raul on the CD. Don't pull that "I'm older than you so therefore you're wrong" crap - even though I'm 19 I know a hell of a lot more about theatre than most older folks on here. Again, it was a video - I can't fairly compare the two, I guess. However - I also have a video of Antonio. I know who whether it's Antonio I like better, but the entire revival production better. The original seemed boring, square, and just pointless. The revival hit every nail on the head, and I actually understood why NINE was considered such a brilliant piece of theatre.

I just really didn't see a problem in Antonio's speech, I thought he was sensational - and I went in with serious reservations. Maybe it's also because I saw him live 5 times, and have seen him on tape dozens - that could be it. I wasn't discrediting your knowledge or your opinion, so I apologize if you think I meant anything maliciously, which I certainly did not. I don't have a chip on my shoulder, and I don't know everything or don't THINK I know everything - that's an unfair assumption, although strangely flattering. No hard feelings, it wasn't directed towards anyone in particular.
