OK, so Brooke Shields is re-recording this production of Wonderful Town with the same ensemble and orchestrations. I read that somewhere, can't remember where... Did she also do the same with Grease?

Anyway, my question is, in which other shows has this type of thing happened. Not pure revivals (like Merman and Peters with Gypsy) but same exact same show, just one or two people new? Is this common or rare? can you give me some examples? Thanks gang!

There's the Vanessa Williams Kiss of the Spider Woman, the "London" version of Company, which replaced Dean Jones' vocals with Larry Kert's, the Pearl Bailey Hello, Dolly!, for starters...

In London Petula Clark re-recorded songs from Sunset Boulevard when she took over the role.

But like Grease, and unline Spiderwoman and Dolly, they are not re-recording the tracks that she isn't on. They are simply recording her tracks and using the others from the previous sessions...
