Read The Siegels About MAC At Theatermania

First Stu Hamstra now the Siegels weigh in.

It may not be too late for MAC to hold a mtg to discuss the MAC Awards overhaul. Read the article for an inspired idea that the MAC BOD call a mtg now to discuss the situation. At this low point of debate, this may be the compromise that people are seeking. Which is basically to follow thru on what the Siegels orig sugg’d in their initial article, i.e. to hold a mtg to discuss the changes in the MAC Awards & consider them for the yr 2006 rather than this year. Perhaps many improvements in the plan may come out of the mtg. As seen below, the MAC BOD needs hear what the mbrs have to say as well as the comments made by mbrs of the cabaret community sent to them at the request of the MAC BOD. This may be the ideal compromise.

“In the end, cabaret will survive with or without MAC, but MAC cannot survive as an effective organization without the full support of the cabaret community.”

and even further i dont think the press has ever been the problem withMAC the incestuous relationship that existed between cabaret performers and impersoanators and the various now defunct theatre magazines is what got that ball rolling.
theater mania itself should watch itself..i'm sure it would want to end up like one those magazine because leadership started siding where it shouldnt? or maybe has in the past?

Avigdor, While I agree w/you that MAC’s behavior has certainly led us to a place where I concur w/Stu Hamstra’s writing “R.I.P. MAC,” I think this inspired suggestion may be a last ditch effort to save MAC fr the ashes.

unfotunately i think stu hamstra himself is one of the causes of the demise or decline of the cabaret community..my personal opinion is he has been a factor in the "pretty boy" only cabaret and lacks the ability to be fair
this is onlymy opnion.
