I'm so excited to hear that John Goodman is Big Daddy to Brenda Fricker's Big Mama, with Gil Cates directing (director of the Osacar telecast) at the Geffen Playhouse. Wish I lived in CA!
I wonder who'll play Maggie?

I think John Goodman will make an amazing Big Daddy. He is a really talented actor, doing both drama and comedy extraordinarily well. I am just thrilled he'll be doing Tennessee Williams again. I loved him as Mitch in Streetcar.

Did anyone see him in The Babe? I cried the whole way through. I refuse to watch that movie again because he just broke my heart. He's going to be a REVELATION!!!

Here's an interesting tidbit: He is now playing Big Daddy in Cat. And the man who played his father on Roseanne played Big Daddy in the last Broadway revival! Six Degrees of Dan Connor!...I mean John Goodman.
This could either be extraordinary or a trainwreck.
John's a terrific stage actor. I had the privilege of seeing him in the original "Big River" on Broadway.
He is an excellent performer & this role is perfect for his skills. He's probably waited to play this! Hope some one ont the coast posts a review....

John Goodman did an AMAZINg job in The Babe! He's a very gifted and underrated actor in my opinion.
When did he do Streetcar?
Ned Beatty, PJ...
I believe John was in the TV version of Streetcar with Lange.
