Really Useful Films Auctioning POTO movie items to promote DVD release

Here's the info. The auction on e-bay is part of the promotion of the DVD release on May 3rd.

http://www.reallyuseful.com/rug/shows/phantom/newsDetail.htm?id=200

Note: It gives the e-bay address as www.ebay.uk

From Really Useful:

To celebrate next month's Phantom DVD release we are delighted to announce a unique opportunity for

Phantom Phans everywhere to own a unique memento of the recent movie...

If you have ever wanted to own a genuine item of clothing, jewellery or prop which was actually worn or used in the movie - such as the Phantom's mask, Carlotta's special hand mirror, Raouls leather riding boots or even a piece of the smashed chandelier we will be offering a total of 120 high-profile items from the movie for auction on Ebay.

Starting on Friday 22nd April we will be auctioning 40 lots a day over three special days. Each lot will be available for 5 days only - the complete auction will end on Friday 29th April.

Each item will be accompanied by a signed, numbered certificate of authenticity.

The seller is listed under OperaGhostLtd – which is a name used by Really Useful Films for this purpose.

*cough* Raoul's leather riding boots *cough*

Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Don't know the odds of winning. Just a few things, that I don't think were mentioned the auction is held in the UK, but you can access the seller through ebay.com by serching worldwide. You then insert the sellers ID. Which I am going to make you go to the RUG message board to see. Good advertisement for the board (which I moderate).:) You do not need to register to just read the board. The link contains the seller ID. I do not know if I am getting an advanced listing of items before they go on eBay.

Also, Austin Shaw the Executive Producer of the film is doing a Q&A and that is also mentioned on the site and I think I put it on the board.

To Beacon, wondered how long it would be until you found out about the ridign boots.:)

Yours,

...or the leather coat he wears in "We have all been blind" and "Twisted Every Way"...

Or the white shirt from the swordfight...or from the final lair.

Or the blue coat from "Notes"...

Le Sigh. Oh Vicomte!

Hmmm... I get paid on the 29th. I wonder. *Ponder* Because, you don't have to pay until the auction is done. Hehehe.

Definitely interested in buying Christine's Masquerade mask. I love that thing. But REALLY interested in Raoul's gloves... hah. Of course. re: Really Useful Films Auctioning POTO movie items to promote DVD release

The Phantom's cape is raking in the most $ so far. 430 pounds! And there's still 4 days.

Here's some details from OperaGhost (part of the selling team) as posted on the IMDB site for POTO:

Direct link
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7510378261&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

Items are being added every half hour up to the 121 total.

Paypal will certainly be acceptable.

it's not $1.00 but 1 British Pound. At the current rate of exchange that is close to $2.00

"it's not $1.00 but 1 British Pound. At the current rate of exchange that is close to $2.00 "

LOL, Beacon... I wrote that because someone over there didn't realize that the bid amounts were in British pounds not dollars!
The exchange rate has never been good for us in Britian, and right now it really sucks.

Last time I checked, the phantom's cape is a whopping 430GBP (somewhere above $800)!! A whole bunch of new bidders are jacking up the price on the first day of bidding.

KEC,

Hey...it's great to have the clarification. We can get very self-focused here on this side of the pond.

Sigh...I want Raoul's leather gloves, his top hat and his sword.

Can't anyone play "sugar daddy" for me so I can get my wishes???
