I was surfing the net, and saw how on BroadwayAcrossAmerica.com, that PETER PAN is playing Austin, TX Feb. 7-12, 2006, for their 2005-2006 Season. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the farewell tour was ending late this summer, and would go to a short Broadway stint afterwards.

PETER PAN isn't coming until next season...regardless, it's still the farewell tour.

Sorry, but is it coming '05 or '06? I forgot. I remember hearing that it would be around holiday time.

I don't know, but I'd imagine it's all part of the farewell tour.

It's a Farewell tour, the same way it was 5 years ago, the same way that Bette Midler retired 5 years ago, the same way that Barbra Steisand is constantly doing Retirement tours...

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

Yes, it really is a farewell. They don't know if they can get a Broadway theatre, so they decided to extend the tour instead. Perhaps after the extension a Theatre will free up.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
