You know, most plays don't have scores. So maybe you should change your title to "reasons to see a musical?"

I consult star charts to decide what shows to see.

I see shows for numerous reasons:

I love the music
I like the actors and actresses
I like the story
I want to see the new theater (Guys and Dolls)
The show has been running for a while
The show might close soon
Lea Michele is in it
Idina Menzel is in it
A friend recommended it to me
I'm bored
and a whole lotta more reasons

hmm... i tend to watch shows for the creative team involved... more specifically the writers of the score... then after that probably the story... i normally don't care who stars in it or who directs it

I know, right? They should change the phrase 'show tunes' to 'musical tunes' as well. Since plays don't have tunes. And I always hated that song, "There's No Business Like Show Business" since it should have been "There's No Business Like Musical Business". Cause you don't sing in a play! Irving Berlin - idiot!
