Reasons why actors dont get jobs #25

I honestly enjoy questions like this, and I don't mind students or "younger folks" asking questions on the boards if they are truly looking for answers ... even if the questions seem naive or "off" or out of focus. It's fine to me if you really want to know the answer.

But it really makes me angry when I see the truth is you just want someone else to think for you instead.

Oh, I don't think that's the case here. I think it's another troll.

Well, she became a troll even if she didn't start out as one, so ... true enough.

Why do I always give trolls the benefit of the doubt? At least I don't engage with them ongoing for six months after I learn they're trolls.

But my "troll radar" sucks.

I always give them the benefit of the doubt, too, best12, because, hey - why not? I know for a fact I've made a difference in a handful of "newbies" lives here. It's worth dealing with the trolls - but when someone new busts out the "my friend told me I shouldn't post here because..." or "sticks up your asses" nonsense on the same day they joined? That's a troll.

It's not that someone might ask the question here....but someone that has had no dialogue with people here, its the "strangers" part -- someone with no sort of previous interaction or relationship. Why should they "trust" us? IS there a wealth of info to be had? Certainly, but THIS person would have no basis for that. I just don't see the point of asking folks that don't know YOU, that you couldn't possibly "trust" for important information. It doesn't make sense TO ME. I go to trusted people for advise.

I was also questioning THIS posters assumptions that they were dealing WITH professional theater people on this board. Yes, SOME of us are, indeed.

And then, of course, my ire always gets up when people are too lazy to think for themselves.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

You guys, let's settle down and give her the benefit of the doubt, stick-free. What ARE the real talks of Broadway right now?

"Sorry for posting on the wrong board, sorry for my grammatical errors, and sorry for bothering you all. My is about what are the real talks on broadway right now as to what is preventing people from getting jobs; its historical. Sorry. Im not writing my paper now! I just thought you all would be able to help, not act like a bunch of people with sticks up your ass with nothing better to do then simply make fun of my post."

You basically want ideas from people after saying your professor turned down your ideas. You never stated what your ideas were (that way we don't suggest them) and still haven't. You don't really explain what the issue is so no one can really help you. Honestly, what do you expect?

Also, note to the original poster....I don't see anything extremely mean on this thread to the point where I'd say people had "sticks up [their] ass." Only a couple of jabs about grammar.

People would be more inclined to help you if you elaborate. Good luck on your paper.
