From Playbill.com:
"The June 9 concert production of South Pacific — starring Reba McEntire as Nellie Forbush and Brian Stokes Mitchell as Emile de Becque — will be taped for future television broadcast.
A spokesperson for "Great Performances" confirmed that Thirteen/WNET's "Great Performances" will tape the 8 PM concert at Carnegie Hall. The musical will air some time in spring 2006.
The one-night-only presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical will also feature Lillias White as Bloody Mary, Jason Danieley as Lt. Cable, Dylan Baker as Commander William Harbison, Conrad John Schuck as Captain Brackett, Alexander Gemignani as Stewpot, Tom Deckman as the Professor, Alec Baldwin as Luther Billis, Alexio Barboza as Jerome, Alex de Castro as Ngana and Renita Croney as Liat."
THIS will be something to set the VCR for! Thank you Great Performances.

HURRAH!
YAY! I am so happy about this. I really wanted to go to the concert but the timing just wasn't right.
Here is hoping that there will be some costumes involved in this concert. Would love to see Jason Danieley in and out of costume as Lt. Cable.
Can't wait!
I can't wait for this to come out, it's a great show and it'll be amazing in concert. Thanks for the post~
Alec Baldwin as Luther Billis.....Sincere apologies to Myron McCormick and Ray Walston.
And since this is Great Performances and not Live From Lincoln Center --- it could get a video release.

Alright! I just heard last night that my singing teacher, Rebecca "Becky" Baxter Foard (the wife of Merwin Foard, who plays M. Renaud in La Cage) is going to be in it, but we couldn't see it because I'm being interviewed for my local newspaper, The Lewisboro Ledger, on my Klezmer composition. (Long story, don't ask.) So at least I get to see it at all.

*Almost peeing pants* YAY!!!!! A great cast!
i could live w/o seeing jason whats-his-face in or out of costume.
gimme my stokes and that's all that matters.
i heard he blew the roof off "the center" with his rendition of "this nearly was mine"
but then, no one doubted his abilities for a minute, did they?
