Two... I also agree. Michner's Tales of The South Pacific's racism issues were definitely toned down by R&H for the theatergoing public.

Three points -
1. Reba will actually sing "I'm gonna WORSH That Man..."
2. Nellie doesn't HAVE to have short hair. Mary Martin chose to cut her hair very short to make the whole hair washing thing less cumbersome. I doubt they wil have a working shower for a concert version.
3. Regarding the race issue - it IS just a concert, and let's face it - Stokes is the whitest black man in America.
