Not enough star power, I am sure it will be worth seeing
but I dought if they did not even record the roundhouse production,
what would make anyone think they will do a DVD of this??

Posted: 1/15/07 at 12:39amWe need more recordings of this show. I don't care, OBC, Papermill, Soundboard, Concert, Encores, whatever, Roundabout. Whatever has been made or never was, we need more Follies!

I don't wanna be too much of a kill joy but I'm kinda getting tired of the fact that more and more--it seems--what are getting filmed arre concert productions (Candide, Sweeney, Passion, South pacific etc for PBS, etc). I get why concert versions are done but nearly always I find it a pretty unsatisfying way to watch a musical...
At least for Passion and (less so) Sweeney we alreadyhave decent taped versions so the concert is a nice companion... South Pacific arguably has two as well (though both films are pretty wanting) but the Caird Candide in London in 1999 was one of my fave theatrical experiences ever and was briefly rumoured to be recorded--something I woulda found much more satisfying than Lonny Price's all over the place concert
end of rant--sorry guys
If Follies in Concert is recorded of course I'll buy it :P
