AWMEN Gypsy Bernadette in my opinion gave it her all and will just have to wait and see about Patti

re: FOLLIES questions

Mar 19, 2007 — 11:12:07 AM

I think the role of callotta is the only strong force emotionally in the show because she let's it out. the other's are living in denail about thing's that should be shearded , but I think it may be a little 1970 for some of these question's which I never thought of before . Only a few would walk a way before then, afraid of denial of ect..

re: Annie Get Your Gun--original vs. revisal

Mar 16, 2007 — 9:49:44 PM

I went to the 1966 revival and took my neice to the 1999 revival with Bernadette Peters and she did a wonderful job. I tend to like the 1966 revival the best arrangments and the trill of being just a little boy at such a production they tell I just sat there in amazement. I do remember a terrific response to An old fashion wedding being done for the first time. My favorarit vocal's for Merman and ray middleton are the 47 original just because they are .

re: Follies Bway Transfer Update - Will They Take The St. James?

I would love to see this happen but i think Polly bergen should come back to play carlotta she did a terrific job in the roundabout production and more or less I agree with Elaine s Strich's theory about who should be singing the song, no offense Polly .

I read were Mimi Hines stoppped the show with "Braodaway Baby" every performance I have failed to read any of the bad reviews so far. I wish they were not such limited runs it seem's like I'm alway's away when they run, at least I can read about them from the internet

re: Hardest Role In Musical Theater

Feb 5, 2007 — 7:04:20 AM

There is no dought in my mind that Mama Rose in Gypsy is the Hardest role ever written, I have seen so many lose it during just limited roles of this show, not even to mention the long runs.

Record Follies

Jan 14, 2007 — 9:32:09 PM

Not enough star power, I am sure it will be worth seeing but I dought if they did not even record the roundhouse production, what would make anyone think they will do a DVD of this??

re: DREAMGIRLS gets a rave in the L.A. Times

This really seems to be a switch that happens lately a lot of what some of us have experinced in the theatre in New York in the past that would be in the spotlight everywhere with critical acclaim and everything to happen in the town, but no longer I personally seem to like what's happening in LA with show's like Curtain's and this reveiw of Dreamgirls

re: Why Did the 2001 Revival of Bells Are Ringing Fail?

Dec 2, 2006 — 4:28:43 PM

I saw the show the afternoon of the tony's and loved it and i also was a big fan of the show listening to it from the time a was a young boy. I had been to see the Follie's the night before which was the closing night so there was a lot of excitement there including seeing Ann Miller there and I had been in attendance of the Paper mill Follie's and I got to tell her that I thought she had done a faboulous job with I'm Still Here. I also was very pleased with Polly Bergen's job.
