A search on the boards gave me nothing definitive, so i had to ask.

As i am one of the poor persons on this planet without Showtime, i did not get to see 'Reefer Madness' when it premiered in April, and since all i knew about the project was a brief blurb in TV Guide, it kind of slipped my mind.

Recently, however, i found the website with the trailer and have found a good portion of the songs, and begun a serious love affair with 'Reefer Madness'.

So, the question really is, will 'Reefer Madness' be released on DVD, and if so, how soon? I absolutely have to see this.

Showtime has said that REEFER MADNESS will be released on DVD this October. however, there are still no plans to release a soundtrack. the LA studio CD is the only document of the show on CD thus far... it's nice to have though due to the fact that they cut some great songs from the film that are on the LA CD such as "Dead Old Man" which is my favorite song from the show. "Mary Jane/Mary Lane" was written specifically for the movie and some of the other songs in the film that are not on the LA CD were from the Off-Broadway production which opened and closed shortly after 9/11...

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
