It's a rehearsal, if she needs to look at her feet while rehearsing, let her look at her feet, as long as she turns in a full-fledged performance on stage, you gotta cut her some slack. She's trying and that's what matters.
I'm not a LaChanze fan OR a THE WIZ fan and I wasn't familiar with "If You Believe" before that clip, but she certainly knocked it out of the park, I can't imagine what it'd be like once she has had all the rehearsal time, memorized her lyrics, found new dimensions to it, it's bound to be a showstopper moment for her.
