You have heard of beating a dead horse
This is called beating an (Un)dead vampire
Do not get me wrong, I would like to have it but it ain't happening & I have resigned myself to it. You cannot fight city hall. Believe me I really tried ( in real life) but it is a waste of time

Posted: 8/26/06 at 12:47pmIt's been a few days since we have been lucky enough to have another "Lestat" CD post. Thanks for adding it. Maybe you could take up a collection to pay for the release of this CD and send the money to the CD producers.

Posted: 8/26/06 at 12:51pm..or email Elton John's people instead of posting again. WickedGeek I LOVE what you wrote. I'm sure Little Edie could get the Lestat recording produced. She is after all a staunch character.

guys, its not a lost cause. That is not a petition, it's a website. I'm sure Mercury Records has recieved a hundred or more letters by now + phone calls.
I know lots of people who are very dissapointed because they never got to see the show and they are counting on teh recording to come out.
If you guys liked it and would want to have the CD, at least write a letter, it will still hold some weight. Every little bit counts. What could it hurt?

Posted: 8/27/06 at 1:42amCan we start a petition to keep the stake in the cd known as Lestat?

Posted: 8/27/06 at 2:42amLestat sucks. Pure and simple. The few people who would actually pay for a CD are not enough to justify the company spending any more money to release it. The best you can hope for is an iTunes download in the future, but that could take years before it happens.

Unlike the vampire, the CD release is beyond dead
Nathan Lane will star in a revival with Broderick as Marius & it will be a huge hit before the CD is released

It costs more to run that website than to buy the recording.
Those are some true blue - red - fans.

This isn't a lost cause by any means. And if you're sick of hearing about us petitioning for a Lestat recording, then shut up and sign/write a letter etc. and maybe we'll get one.
Then you'll never have to hear about it again.

Out of curiosity:
How many signatures do you think it would take to result in a recording of Lestat?

probably a lot. But were getting closer each day. If people keep sending letters, I think Mercury should be swayed to release it.
and elton John is a fruit for careing more about makeing a hip-hop album then release "one one of his finest works." He said how proud he was when it came out and now it's like he doesn't even care.

No because if we have to sign the damn thing then we get...
"OMG Carmello modulated there and she didn't do that in the show."
or
"God Hugh sounds so on in this recording, but when will they release the version with his understudy!"

>> fangs are the best coshtoom for today <<
Will somebody please explain what this phrase means?
#20re: Release Lestat
Posted: 8/27/06 at 3:44pmDollypop, it's a Little Edie reference with a bit of Lestat thrown in (or up).

BwayBaby18, you REALLY think so?
bull****.
Isn't that the case with every recording? You like the CD but sometimes you want to hear the "understudy" or someone else sing it? That's what bootlegs are for.

Well, I'm not going to lie in a letter just to get a certain segment of the fannish population to shut up.
