"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Tracie was so funny. "Hey RENThead, wanna be in RENT?" "Uh, what?!" She seems really down to earth, and one of my friends who met her and Rosario when they went and saw Altar Boyz(Tracie was Ryan Duncan's old roommate) she said they both were really sweet.
This gets me excited. And tomorrow, well, there will be no speaking to me. I was be fangirling, by myself, in my living room. Fun stuff!
Her blog was soo cute. And ... yeah, still excited for tomorrow.

I just watched all of them for the first time, and Taye Diggs cracked me up. "Do you know where I can get a candy bar? Something chocolatey? One of those little baby ones? See, on a movie set, you ask people to get things and they get them for you."
Belated, but had to say. And I didn't realize that Anthony was doing all of these things.

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

According to the iTunes music store, the soundtrack is coming out on September 27th. The following is a quote from the iTunes music store: "Based on Puccini's La Boheme, Jonathan Larson's rock opera RENT tells the story of a group of bohemians struggling to live in New York's East Village. Before the film version hits movie theatres nationwide on Thanksgiving, the 28-song original soundtrack performed by the cast will be released on September 27. Get the iTunes pre-realease of the first single from the soundtrack, 'Seasons of Love.' "
So it would seem so.

Back to the Wax Lion identity . . .I can't help but feel like he was a member of the OBC . . .any thoughts?

Wax Lion very well may be a member of the OBC or he could be someone working on the project. He does seem to have all the info on the movie and gives an all knowing sort of impression.

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

I don't know if this helps at all but the wax lion seems like a reference to Tracie's tv show Wonderfalls where the pilot had a talking wax lion. I might be pulling things out of thin air, but it's just what came to mind when I saw it mentioned and it seemed like too much of a coincidence not to mean something since it's not all that often you hear of wax lions.
