i guess they're planning on everything going smoothly. it's probably too early to tell, i'd hold that date as tentative.

I hope they don't rush to make that date. A rushed movie cannot turn out well... I'd better be tentative

It's earlier than I expected too. There's one factor that might allow them to stick to this schedule, though, which is that with so much music in the film and a fairly strict time line already established, there's not much room for a lot of editorial experimenting. It's also not a big sound effects movie, and with the music already recorded, a lot of the sound work has been done.

That date was scheduled a LONG time ago, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. It can easily change.

Elphie, I assumed it was an old, inaccurate release date too, but it was on the press release just put out by Revolution about the start of filming. And of course it could still change, but it seems they're sticking with it for now.

Even that didn't fully hit me. It's going to take a while. That was a like a flick in the head. The release date is like a smack in the head. I think when we start seeing pictures from the SF interiors that'll be like a door hitting me in the head, and seeing the film will be the cartoon-esque anvil FALLING on my head.

While that exact day probably cant be held to its word quite yet, I'd still expect a November release nonetheless. And my God am I excited!

Hey, that release date is 6 days before my birthday :)

Do you think that when RENT is released, it will be a limited release or a wide release at first? I hope it's a wide release, because I live in Pennsylvania and there's no way my mom would let me take a three hour bus ride to NY to see a movie.

Well its a pretty big budget film being made by a very big studio so my guess is that it would be an unlimited release. I sure hope it is an unlimited release...

Yeah, but Chicago and POTO were big budget movies as well, and they were limited releases at first. I don't know. I just hope that when it is released I won't have to wait a couple weeks before it will come around my parts.

I will drive as far as I need to to watch this movie. It better not be limited release! I will be so mad if I wait this long & find out I have to wait a couple more weeks. And especially becuase I live in a smaller town, it probably wouldn't come here for a while. I really don't think they are going to do that ... they better not!

thats true. Well I hope that it is unlimited release because most of the theatres near me dont play limited release films. I'd have to drive down to hollywood or something to go. I'd still do it in a heartbeat though...:-P
