Sorry to ask, but I couldn't find any threads on the subject already.
Does anyone know what the Rent stage door has been like lately? I'm thinking of seeing it next Friday (I fly into New York on Thursday) and I'm a huge Tracie Thoms fan. Would love a chance to quickly get her autograph after the show.
Thanks!
i just saw the show earlier this week.
if you get out there early...you will mabye be able to meet mark, mimi, collins, and some understudies/swings. but in ll honesty..the "rent heads" dont even care who is singing there program anymore..just as long as they shove through and get a signature...and there are literally hundreds of people waiting.
no chance eden or tracy would come out i dont think. they would probly be jumped lol
sry but its the truth.
not to quote cats or anything but...
the theatre certainly is not, what it was

I saw the show in the middle of June and there was like 20 people there at the most. Eden does come out and people don't jump her.
jeff, those people aren't "Rentheads". Anyone remotely familiar with the show would have no problem distinguishing swings from the leads.
Tracie and Eden both came out when I was there, but Will didn't.
Tracie will be out on the 4th.

I saw the show three weeks ago on a Thursday night, and almost everyone came out. Enjoy it!
Tracie will also be out on September 3rd. Trisha is going on for her.

She's missing the final public performance.

Thanks for the tips guys. Coming over from London so would love to meet her!
I may have to try to get her before the show. Do many people do this in New York? There's usually 5/10 people before shows in London.

They've actually set up barricades like they did when Adam and Anthony returned, and Tracie pretty much always comes out through them to sign, as does Renee, Adam, Will, and sometimes Eden. Everyone else comes out through the regular doors. It's been pretty crowded, with people spilling out into the street, but nowhere near as bad as last summer. If you leave right after bows, I think you'll be ok.
People occasionally approach actors before the show, but if it's close to half hour, I wouldn't since they're probably rushing so as not to be late.
