I wonder if I can make it to Toronto to see the tour. It's a *bit* closer than NYC, and probably a little cheaper. Hm.
If anyone wanted to see this, it's the new Playbill in PDF format:

In response to the tour being cheaper in Toronto...The RENT tour seems to cost a top price of about 60-65.00 USD in most cities, so yeah, a world cheaper than the 90-100 price of a show on Broadway.
Otis/James, do you happen to know if the tour is coming anywhere nearer to L.A.? If not, I'll definitely make the trip to San Diego . (Do you know when the tour will be playing your fair city?) As to Bryce Ryness, I second my approval. He was BRILLIANT in Floyd Collins (and is a member of our wonderful Actors Co-Op). He's also a newlywed. I wonder if his bride will be touring with him? Anyway, way to go Bryce!!!
Hey Steven! The last time I spoke to Warren, he had a schedule that took him through end of July. They are coming to San Diego around the 2nd week of July (not sure for how long). I would think they'd hit Costa Mesa, at least.
Thanks for the info, James. I downloaded the program. So exciting for Bryce. His myspace.com address is in his bio, so I've sent him my congratulations. If I see the show in San Diego, hope to say hi to you again!
You can read more about the first Rent rehearsals at Bryce's My Space blog. Sounds like a really great cast!!!

No Costa Mesa, but Los Angeles will be visited, I think.

Just talked to a couple of friends who were at the final dress rehearsal tonight and they were both talking so fast that I missed a lot of what they said! :) One thing that seems to be a consensus is that Jed Resnick is going to be a super Mark. Mixed reviews on a few others but hey, they've got time to grow into the roles. The Collins (sorry I don't know his name) was also popular and my friend said it's the first time she's seen a Collins and Angel who BOTH had dreads.
There were a few issues with the lighting and the sound, and a few lyric foul-ups, but not surprising at this point.

Thats what I've been hearing so far. But nobody has mentioned how Bryce was as Roger, I am dying to know about him and whoever is playing Mimi.

It's coming to my city... I'm not sure if I'll see it though, because I saw it years ago in Madison and I didn't really like it all that much.
Ok Just got back from the show.. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it.. The cast has a lot of raw talent. There were some screw ups but that's to be expected at this stage in the game.. I expect that they will all grow more comfortable in the roles and be really great!
How was Arianda?
She struggled a bit in the first act. It might jsut have been nerves. Her belt is gorgeous. She lost it during the "change" in Out Tonight and had a hard time recovering.. Give her a little time and she will be amazing.. I also think after she does it for a while she will be more comfortable on the bars and not be so stiff..
The cast stepped it up at least 100% tonight..
