Real fast... great energy

Frenchie and Ava did a great job singing TAKE ME OR LEAVE ME

Jay Wilkinson and Collin H. did WHAT YOU OWN

Krystal and Jay (I believe ) sang WITHOUT YOU

Enrico (looking too adorable I just wanted to hug him), Marcus Paul James, and and a few others joined for SEASONS the extended verison (report cards and speeding tickets).

Frenchie was funny. The announcer said "American Idol's Frenchie Davis" Frenchie grabbed the mic and said "I haven't been American Idol's anyhting for three years. I'm Rent's Frenchie Davis!"

Sweet Charity (to me) was under rehearsed

I heard Cary got sick at soundcheck so thats why he didn't perform. Does anyone know, is he ok?

I totally disagree about Take Me or Leave Me. I thought it had no energy. Really weak. But the rest of their performances were good, I thought.
It's hard when it's so out of context, I guess. Sweet Charity was alright. The first guy, (the one having all of the problems with the piano), he was the best in my opinion.

That Once Around the Sun stuff??? or whatever it was called. Not really impressed.

Once Around the Sun -- eh
there were some Caryn Lyn Manuel groupies there
Maya Days looked lovely in her outfit


Rent -- blah for "What You Own"; last's year "Take Me or Leave Me" was better - it had Maggie Benjamin; "Season's of Love" was good


Sweet Charity -- Paul Schoeffler lovely lovely voice; the song with Denis O'Hare was kinda eh; Dylis Croman sang "If My Friends Could See Me Now" - I thought she did a very nice job with it


alot of people left before Drumstruck (www.drumstruckny.com)
but I stuck around as did others who moved up front
which I thought was nice to give the cast support

Once Around the Sun seemed hot strong songs, good looking cast.

Denis O'Hare was there. I think someone inquired about that.

As for Cary, he performed "What you own" at soundcheck and then realized that he was more vocally exhausted then he thought and figured it would be safer to not perform. Jay Wilkison then finished out the soundcheck and the real performance. Cary did hang around in support and joined the cast for SOL as that song is not vocally demanding for him like the other songs were since he is singing in a group.

I thought that "Take me or leave me" lacked energy, but I was really impressed by how strong Ava was vocally and dang she is gorgeous.

Once Around the SUn was great - i have always been an asa somers fan .... but he sounded more amazing than i could have expected today!!

I left this out but I agree about Take Or Leave Me

I loved themt oday my only problem was if you did not know the show there wasn't any real acting -especailly Take Me Or Leave Me. Vocals were great but I felt they needed some actions or something to drive the song

wow like none of the currect cast actually performed then.. i mean it was like all understudies and stuff? that kinda sucks, I'm not that upset I had to miss it. Although just for curiousity's sake what order did they go in because I wouldnt have been able to make it there until like 1:30 would RENT have been over by then? Also, did you get to meet them afterwards. I've never gone to Bryant Park before so I don't really know how it works but i'm looking forward to going on August 4th so I just wanted to know, also is it very crowded there, like should i get there super early if i want to get a good view? Thank you for your help.

I was at Bryant Park last Thursday and enjoyed the performances by the cast of "Rent". I am confused about the cast member who was so friendly; he signed autographs and took photos with all the people. I left my camera at home naturally.Is he the one who got sick? He also was playing frisbee between performances in the park. He had several large tattoos. What is his name? It's great to see a star who isn't afraid to mingle with the people in contrast to Christina Applegate who did not appear.

Cary Shields. He is awsome and so friendly to his fans. Yea he is the one that got sick. His throught has been hurting so he thought it best to rest.
