What time are people getting to the store on Monday morning in order to get passes to meet the cast? And I guess the time was changed from 7pm to 4pm?

I guess I was looking for more specifics, like lining up at 6am to get one of the CDs at 9am to get a guaranteed pass...

The passes would probably be gone by the afternoon, right?

I guess the pass is to watch them from a closer location and be gauranteed a chance to meet them. If you don't get a pass, can you still watch them perform?

I work across the street from Virgin so I had a lengthy conversation with the manager there today.

The doors open at 9am. The first 200 people to buy the highlights CD (which is being released on Monday morning) will receive a free movie poster and a wristband. The band guarantees that you will be able to get either your "Rent" CD or your poster signed at 4pm. The following 300 people to buy the highlights CD will also get wristbands and the chance to get their CD signed at 4pm but they will not get the free poster. The maximum people being admitted is 500. There was no talk of a performance at all. Whether or not other items besides the poster or either of the 2 movie soundtracks can be signed will be up to the cast members and their reps but in 99% of the cases at Virgin, it is the purchased item only. That means you can get your double disc CD signed, your highlights CD signed, or your free movie poster, but likely nothing else and I'm sure it's being limited to one item per person.

The manager advised people to not bother showing up on Monday morning with a receipt for the "Rent" CD (even if it was purchased at Virgin) and think you can get a wristband. From what I was told, they're being given at the counter when you purchase the CD. You can't get one without purchasing either the highlights CD or the soundtrack.

so what time are people going to get there in the morning to line up? Also, do you think that if I had a pass and showed up at around 4:25 for the actual signing, I would be ok time-wise (cuz I get out of school at 4)?

Honestly, I feel like I should do this just becuase it's a big deal. But, I also feel like I would rather chop my arm off and feed it to a hungry bear.

There is no way I can get there before 2:30, and everyone here is making it sound like we're going to have freaks sleeping in front of Virgin, so at this rate it doesn't sound like I'm getting in. But I'm trying to rationalize how there will be 500 RENTHEADS at Times Sq on a Monday afternoon. The Bloomingdale's event certainly didn't seem mobbed, or is this one just anticipated to be mobbed because the cast is stationed there, subjected to sign the CDs bought at Virgin?

In the best possibly scenario I'll be there at 3 pm...damn school. Pleeeeease let there be wristbands left. Why does my school have to be in almost freaking LI. Atleast I get out early that day...

i feel your pain.. i wont be able to get there until 4 so that means i cant buy the CD in the morning=i cant go

^ditto, on an average day I wouldn't be able to get there until a little after 4. Thank goodness for Mondays. Does anyone feel my pity? I'll leave you my number and pay you back! And thank you 524,600 times if you want. If you're hot enough the 1000 sweet kisses may be applicable as well.

i go to school on LI too.. but I know that it's stupid to go out of my way justtt incase theres bracelets left and then go back home, but there cant possibly be 500 people going, right?
