This segment was so sweet. I cried! You could just tell how much it meant to her and her mother.

That was nice. I kinda cringed toward the end when the guy sang "Or the way that she died" 'cause isn't CF fatal?

Death is usually caused at a relatively early age due to lung complications resulting from the disease, yes. However, considering Rent hits on the topic of AIDS pretty directly, I'm not sure why you'd cringe during this performance and not the acutal show...

Wow - I never get too emotional from things like that - but, wow. It was so heartwarming and so appropriate. I was especially moved my Rosie kissing her and saying "Merry Christmas." Speaking of which, enjoy your Holidays!
siamese dream: I know RENT is about AIDS. (Damn it!) I just meant that singing "Or the way that she died" after the 12-year-old girl and Rosie discussed CF (which apparently causes early death) made me think of the girl's looming demise. (Yeah, I'm morbid like that.)

Oh no, that just made me cry so hard. Thanks fiyero2.
I'm quite sure Stephanie's disease is a big factor in her connection with Rent in the first place. Although that line in the solo might be a bit jarring for most of us after hearing her story, it's good to know that Stephanie herself probably finds comfort in the show for that very same reason--lines like that one tackle the issues of mortality that she has to deal with every day. I know what you mean, though.
