Rent show on Easter?

I'm planning to take a trip up to NYC and try for Rent rush tickets on Easter Sunday, since I figured it wouldn't be as crowded. But, I wanted to make sure there is a show playing that day. Can anyone tell me if shows still play on Easter Sunday, specifically the 2pm Rent matinee. I checked the site, but it doesn't mention holidays.

RENT is usually sold out on Easter because of the whole resurrection theme with Mimi. Angel dies so SHE may live and all that...so I would get my tickets early if I were you.

Really? I was thinking since most people would be at church that it would give me a better chance to get rush tickets, I don't even know if people go to church that day, I'm just assuming that's what happens. Well, as long as there's a show, I guess I'll try for the lottery, thanks.

There are no shows on Easter this year. I checked Ticketmaster and that day's performances have been cancelled.

Even if there were shows that day, and even if "everyone would be at church" (which is a HUGE assumption and not an accurate one ), you could still do lotto. That happens two hours before curtain.

And Jesus died for YOU long before you were ever BORN! The symbolism is pretty obvious. And are you positive there are no performances on Easter. Not everyone celebrates Easter.

Maybe the symbolism was obvious for you but I'm sure many people agree with me in that Angel did not DIE for Mimi. Angel was already in "the light" and simply told her to go back and that it wasn't her time yet.

But if Angel (Hello, the character's NAME is Freaking ANGEL for Christ's sake!) hadn't DIED, there would be no one there to tell Mimi to "Go back!" So, yes, Angel had to die so that Mimi might live.
