I found some good recommendations (Proof, Streetcar, etc...) but they're very...angry dramatic. I'm either looking for...touching dramatic or sort of tearjerker dramatic. But angry dramatic is cool, too. Preferably for 2 females but if a gender-bender works, I'm all for it.

Um.... *thinks*
I'd say the ending to Cabaret (the revival), but it's most effective with the Emcee and the entire cast...
"A lie of the mind" is fantastic. It's written for two men, but most of it could easily be adapted for women. Also, "Children of a Lesser God". But you'd have to know sign language. Ach, I guess I'm not very good at coming up with helpful ideas. But I'd reccommend looking to plays rather than musicals, since those tend to be deeper. Most of the stuff by Arthur Miller is good.
**EDIT** I'm sure you'll be able to find a lot if you look on the student board.

Perhaps something from "'night Mother?"

I'm not sure how long the scene runs, but from Angels in America, the scene where the mother is selling her house and is talking to the real estate agent.
I think Agnes of God has some good scenes.

I was going to suggest 'night Mother as well, but I see Margo beat me to it.
But to be specific.......the scene which builds and builds as Momma tries to talk Jesse out of killing herself using all kinds of different methods and culminates with Jesse telling Momma that she shouldn't have told her and Momma screaming "Yes!" then withering away with a "noooo."
I was actually looking at 'night Mother, but we couldn't find any good ways to cut it (to fit the time limit, to make it effective...). We might take a second look at it.
Stagewhore, in no way would I try to limit this to musicals only. I was ACTUALLY thinking more along the lines of plays.
I'd reccommend DIARY OF ANNE FRANK or THE WHITE ROSE...obviously Diary of Anne Frank is dramatic and a tear-jerker. The White Rose is also a good choice, they both have to deal with World War Two...hope that helps.

Maybe something from Glass Menagerie. I always find the scene where Laura is talking about how she threw up when she went to typing class to be very sad.

Steel Magnolias has its share of tearjerkers in the second act, but I'm not sure how many scenes only have 2 of the women.
I've always thought the scene at the end of Glengary Glen Ross where the office manager says to Levine, "They're nuts, Do you want to see the memos?" is incredibly dramatic and heartbreaking. Not sure how it would work with 2 women, but I don't see why it couldn't.
How bout the confrontation between Father Flynn and Sister Aloysius in DOUBT?
We looked at Doubt and didn't find anything very interesting. But at that point, we were only looking at female/female scenes. I'll check it out again. Thanks everyone. Keep them coming.
Then how bout the scene prior to the confrontation with Flynn and Aloyisus; the scene with Ms. Muller and Sister Aloysius? Or the scenes with Sister Aloysius and Sister James? There is a lot of drama in all the female-female scenes of DOUBT.
Yes, there is a lot of conflict...but it just wasn't what we were looking for.
Definitely look into The Glass Menagerie, any scene between Laura and her mother could work very well.
Also, in Angels in America, scenes between Harper and her husband Joe (a closeted homosexual) are extremely intense and well-crafted. Female/Female scenes in Angels in America: scenes between Harper and Hannah in Perestroika.
A scene that I'm sure you must have thought of is the final scene of Gypsy right before "Rose's Turn" with Louise and Mamma Rose, or the scenes before "Let Me Entertain You" in which Mamma Rose pushes Louise to strip.
If you are not necessarily looking for a female/female scene, then I recommend Harvey Fierstein's "Torch Song Trilogy," there's an extremely powerful scene between the main character (a Jewish gay man) and his mother in which they have a discussion about losing the men they loved, it's so well-written, you could cry just by reading it.
Oh, ray brought up a great one. The confrontation between Rose and Gypsy before Rose's Turn. Its the shows best book scene if you ask me.
