And let us not forget that some of these folk went on to give us FOOTLOOSE. Oh, the humanity.....

The original production, though, is just so incomprehensibly, laughably bad. It was the show Max Bialystock wishes he'd produced if he really wanted to bilk the investors. I mean, please: cardboard cars? The hooker outfits in that opening number? The dialogue in the shower that was one step shy of "Gee... sure is... *hot*... in here..."?

And let us not forget how bizarre Carrie's revenge looked. If you turned away for a moment, you missed it. A key moment like that, and he devoted almost no time to it whatsoever?

I'm sure there's plenty of blame to spread around on this one, from creative to design to direction. I'm actually amazed it got as far as it did.
