I agree the original Assassins recording is superior to the revival...and I thought the cast was superior as well.

I'm another who prefers the revival of A Chorus Line, just because I'm someone who thrives on completeness and...well...I just prefer the actors' voices more polished. I cringe every time I hear "But everything. Was beautiful. At the ballet." on the original cast recording...that, and the 70s freak me out...

Anyway, I also prefer the revival recording of Little Shop of Horrors and, I know I'm like one of three people in the world, but I also prefer the 2001 revival of The Rocky Horror Show. You know, because it actually sounds like rock music. And the cast can sing.

I've never heard a recording of Annie Get Your Gun that I've enjoyed. I just can't stand that show.
