re: Revivals

most happy fella

west side story (so excited its actually coming back - i'm sick of mediocre productions - let's hope jerry mitchell doesn't ruin it. i hope he instills ALL of robbins' choreo..i don't think it would be/should be done any other way)

sunday in the park (would never happen but i would love it)

Pacific overtures (has me more excited than anything)

But I won't live alone in a house of regret.

re: Revivals

I'm so excited for the WSS revival. There rumors going around that theres talks that its going to be a completely updated modern day version of the show. In a way I think this would work, but if they cut too many songs..I wouldn't be happy.

re: Revivals

ragtime, you're a dickhead.

re: Revivals

I know it isn't closed yet, but Aida lol. Oo, even better idea, dont close it! lol, jk

-Any ALW show, I love them all (BTW, a tour of Evita opens in November in Boston, so maybe if its good, it might find its way to NYC)
-Grease (I'm sorry, I love that show, I want to see it on Broadway... or on tour... so bad lol)
-Tommy (my friend raves about the music!)

I can't think of anymore at this time, but I'm sure I will!

re: Revivals

Let's hope the Evita tour is good and it can find a home back in NYC!

I know it is. It was also rumored that Angela Lansbury and Kevin Kline would be in it. Her as Mdme Armfeldt and him as Fredrik. I hope the rumors are true.

re: Revivals

It would be great if they could get some of the LA cast in the Broadway version (Kudisch, Garber maybe?). Although, it would be fun to hear Ms. Lansbury say, "No-not even figs. RAISINS!" re: Revivals
#41

re: Revivals

it sure would...Garber would be (actaully IS from what I read) great too.

re: Revivals

I'd like to see Pal Joey revived. But would it work? Or is it "too dated?"
#43

re: Revivals

The last several revivals of Pal Joey flopped (the last successful production of it was the one Elaine Stritch talked about in "At Liberty" and that was over 50 years ago). The score's a classic, though, so perhaps it'll get the Encores treatment at some point.

re: Revivals

why was I thinking it did get an Encore's treatment recently? I'm confused...

re: Revivals

Encore has already done it - with the great Ms. LuPone.
It was excellent.

re: Revivals

that's what I thought -- two years ago...I'm losing Patti points...OH NO!

Pippin. And Les Mis in about 10 years.

re: Revivals

I was thinking the same thing when I wrote it, but I couldn't remember when that happened so I left it in. It's such a great score, it shouldn't be forgotten, but I wonder whether a full-scale revival will ever again be viable for it. Every decade or so, some entity should put together an all-star concert of it for a couple of nights because it deserves to be heard.
