With all of the news and bankruptcy of Baci Worldwide which supplies broadway shows to Richmond VA, Norfolk VA, and Washington D.C. Warner Theater, I was wondering if anyone had heard if there was going to be a broadway season for 2007-2008 at any of these locations? Since I live in Virginia, I use these venues as some of the main sources for broadway shows since its so expensive to travel to NYC. Have a nice weekend everybody. :)

I know they spent a ton of money renovating the Warner in DC & that is , other than the National, the only downtown DC theatre left

I sincerely hope it & the others are safe

Anyone know the fate of the theater in Huntington W Va ?

I live in Norfolk and they did say that DRS would indeed be coming in the Fall to Chrysler Hall.
Other than that, nada. re: Richmond Virginia Landmark Theater; Norfolk Virginia Chrysler Hall; Washington D.C. Warner Theater

Woolly and Fords are in downtown DC. Obviously, they don't (usually) get the bigger commercial tours, but its not like downtown DC has no theatres with professional shows. Studio and Arena are also in the city.

I meant large theaters like the National when I said no theaters in downtown DC

I live in Richmond and from all that I have read, it doesn't look like the Landmark is going to have anything going on in the season as far as touring Broadway. A true shame. I just hope all of the Baci subscribers get their money refunded. From the last article I read, it seems a bit of a fiasco!

Nice to see that the National Theatre is finally getting a few shows. Not soon though.

Good that the National is, because the Kennedy Center season is certainly nothing special as they are renovating the Eisenhower.

True they are big theaters, but is DC really missing anything by not having tours at the Warner? They are usually 3rd rate ones (with the exception of the equity version of Evita) or shows that have been here many times before (Cats or Rent, anyone)?

Yeah, true (and I actually wasn't thrilled with Evita...that production was my first time seeing it) - but, Sweet Charity was supposed to be there this season...everything else is what I'd consider "old shows" (altho I know there are a ton of people who prolly never saw Cabaret or Aida). Anyway, I hope someone in DC can get Sweet Charity back, not to mention I know there are tours of A Chorus Line and Drowsy Chaperone out there...(and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which I had the privelege of seeing in NY). Any reason Broadway Across America couldn't set up shop in the Warner? (unless there are other companies that the Warner is in talks with...)
