Posted: 2/3/04 at 1:28pmI agree...although I haven't seen Ricky act I really don't think he could fill Hugh's shoes! I can't really be objective though....I LOVE HUGH!!!

Etcy,
Hugh is scheduled to leave in the middle of September. The date being mentioned has been 9/12/04...but then there are rumors about him extending...which I am sure you can find mentioned on this site someplace.

Posted: 2/5/04 at 7:52pmIt will send the box office through the roof, but what little credibilty the show has will be in the toilet.

After the critics trashed it, it has no credibility
My wife & I saw it & throughly enjoyed it as has anyone we know who has seen it. By the way, I called it right last year when I predicted the crtics would trash it unmercifully
If Nathan Lane can not take over, Ricky Martin would be my second choice.

Sorry folks, this is NOT going to happen (well, sorry Ricky fans, and for the rest of you - you can breathe a sigh of relief now).
Not so much that Ricky wants basically double Hugh's salary...but other little demands like the rewrites he is insisting on...such as changing Jarrod's role of Peter Allen's lover to a GIRL!
(O.K., Piglet - pick yourself up off the floor and go buy Jarrod a dress).
Certain OTHER rewrite demands I'd rather not even mention - ones much more drastic.
Ricky, Ricky, Ricky - doesn't anything ever change with you, darlin'?
Meanwhile, you might be surprised who the next choice is...let's just say a movie/Broadway musical star.

Posted: 2/7/04 at 12:51pmP.S.- Piglet, darlin' - the Dame Edna picking out the frock bit is also a hint about the mystery man being considered instead of Little Ricky.

Issa....you are killin me! When I was at the show last week, Isaac Mizrahi was there...he makes frocks! He was also in a movie! And he was associated with Bway! And he can sing! UGH!!!!!
I know its probably someone else...but good God...I just can't remember. I know Dame Edna mentioned the lovely frocks in context in her show...but with regards to whom?

Posted: 2/7/04 at 4:44pmRicky Martin is yummy....and I'm much more attracted to him than Hugh Jackman. His career is kinda dead to so maybe this would help.

Hi IssaMe,
We've missed your regular updates on the show.
Who is next in line --
Movie/Broadway musical star ???
John Stamos??? Matthew Broderick ???
Or could it be Antonio Banderas???
That is going to mess up the accent - LOL!
Harry Connick,Jr., I understand has expressed interest in the role - but he hasn't done Broadway.
Does this mean that it is likely that Hugh will be leaving by 12 September, if the search for a replacement seems to be serious?
