I lottoed American Idiot a few days before opening and at 12:27 a group of 15+ people all showed up "because they were running late" and put their names in. Come 12:30, all 15+ of their names got called.
Not quite ridiculous, I just wanted to share some pent-up anger

I mentioned this a few weeks ago, a Saturday Evening at Million Dollar Quartet. Even though it was only my third time doing a lottery it was definitely the weirdest. The girl doing the lottery did not just pull names and call them. She stood at the table, pulled the cards, piled them up and kept going back to them. Not sure if she was reading the names or the number of tickets the person wrote down. She played with the pile a few times, placed them down and then pulled the rest of the cards out, I thought maybe she was looking for a card that was looking for a single ticket, who is going to question it. She then took the cards and started calling the names. Now there was a group of maybe 8 to 10 people, half of them young adults, probably teenagers and one child about 4 years old. The first name called was a girl from that group. The second name called , the child from that group, asked if she had ID, she said no. The girl doing the lottery went and asked the box office person if it was ok, she came back and said it was. Third name called, another person from that group, an adult female, she too had no ID. She plead with the lottery girl, telling her I can give you my zip code, blah, blah blah, she then had her husband show a credit card with the same last name (not first name of the women). Then another person was called from that group, same bull crap, no ID. That whole group got the center front row. They were either very lucky or something fishy went on. Several of the people in the crowd were getting annoyed, not only about the kid winning but because they allowed the winner with no ID to purchase the tickets. Comments like next time I will put down a few names and claim no ID were made.
By the way, is it protocol to allow young kids to participate in a lottery? First time I ever saw that, but like I said it was only my third try at a lottery.
