I wonder if Rick McKay will apologize for his slander of the director of this film which he did having not seen the movie. Maybe Rick is just jealous of someone who was actually able to complete their film.

I'm a little confused...wasn't it already known that this documentary exploited its subject due to her struggle with dementia? I thought everyone had made that conclusion, even on BWW...not just Riedel.

One person who saw the movie claimed it did. Then other people like Rick McKay jumped on it. BWW & Riedel followed McKay's lead.

It sounds like the film isn't the hatched piece that it was first believed to be.

The Williamsburg Independent Film Festival is proud to be screening "Marian" Saturday night at 9:00pm as part of our Documentary Short Film Block. Rick Rodgers will be at the screening and will answer questions after the screening about the film and his relationship with Marian. Thank you.

It's also worth noting that James Grissom is not a trustworthy source. He writes ostensibly nonfiction books inserting himself into the lives of famous and conveniently dead people. An interesting writer but certainly not one to take at his word.

I adore Marian! Had the pleasure of working with her on Three Tall Woman (have a wonderful post card she sent me from the road on that show somewhere in storage). Also worked with her on The Play About the Baby. The last time I saw her was at the opening night reception of the Irish Rep's The Emperor Jones. She came over and gave me a huge hug and a kiss and said, "I only wish Mr O'Neil were still here to see how you realized his text!". She was just beginning to get ill then. I began seeing her frailty when she was being escorted home. I will have to see if I can make it to the screening tomorrow.
