He's especially charmed me, personally, lately with his monthly "leaks" of letters a friend of his apparently read of Laurents and Sondheim's correspondences. Particularly when he seems to take pride in the fact Sondheim politely asked that he doesn't quote anything about people who are still alive, and then instead he paraphrases that Sondheim said Babs looked heavy at some concert, etc.

I just don't understand why Bridges isn't getting more acclaim. I saw it a few months ago and it still stays with me.

This might not be the best place to post this, but: I haven't yet seen "After Midnight", but I've read all of the reviews. It's kind of like an amazing concert, right? Like there is no plot (that I've read of)? If that's accurate, then how is this a frontrunner for best musical? Is there an actual plot/story that I just don't know about, or is it acclaimed because the music is so well done and fun? I know I have to see it, but I would like to hear more about this aspect.

I'm a bit disappointed that everyone has turned a blind eye to Riedel's snarky little line about Rocky having to be content to be the darling of the heterosexual male audiences.

I wonder how all of you would have responded had he said the same thing about any show having to be content to be the darling of the gay male audiences?

I also wonder if the reviews and giving of awards have more than notional biases.

I think IF/THEN is the least likely of the "possibles" to be nominated.
I do think the nominating committee will do right by BRIDGES (although probably not with my fantasy nomination of Whitney Bashor)

I hope they nominate Bridges but I'm bitter that IF/THEN will get left out while Aladdin gets in - and to be clear I enjoyed Aladdin - I feel like I was one of the few people on this forum that actually had positive things to say after the first preview.

Also, I know it has been mentioned several times but this article is just so embarrassing in hindsight:

Despite his predictions, it looks like Bullets will not be a sure fire at the Tonys nor at the box office.
