The titles do not exactly make you want to run out and buy the cast album - if one is ever made.
Maybe you like them. Sorry but it doesn't do it for me.
Beensince...I dont even think cutting that song would be a huge change. It certainly would be a change for the better, but at this point they need to overhaul the entire act 2, most of act 1, re-write 50% of the songs, cut the other 50%, bring in new songs, expand the character development/story of Spidey/MJ, MJ/Peter, Uncle Ben/Peter, cut back Arachne or at least make her character fit in more with the realm of this world Taymor created, oh and speaking of Taymor, they need to get rid of her mega ego, cuz at this point that is the main problem.
was being sarcastic about Deeply Furious. scott keeps saying ushers were claiming major changes are being done, but most people are saying not so.
rentheadca said one song was cut, but that wouldn't be the major change, would it? s/he claims love me or kill me is gone, then what is the last song now? the boy falls from the sky?
Oh I know you weren't serious lol, I was just saying how they basically need to redo the entire show

I don't like them nor do I dislike them. I don't know them and nor could I base their "toetapability" on simply a list in a playbill.

I wasn't around to see the togas in CARRIE.
I didn't get to see the dancing pirates of IN MY LIFE.
So don't let them cut "Deeply Furious" until I can see this bomb!
that was why i went to see this show, thought for sure that they will cut the number...my mistake
taymor said she won't cut that one
Taymor has basically said she won't cut anything noticeable.

Say it ain't so, Julie:
Our sources at The Foxwoods Theater are reporting that "Deeply Furious," the infamous Act II show-stopper (for better or worse), has been cut from Spider-Man.

One smart move, at least.

Or just flesh out Act I and cut Act II. The villain parade makes no sense and is ultimately irrelevant to the plot. We never see Spider-Man fight any of those villains (except Green Goblin) the first time. Green Goblin was presumed dead by the end of Act I, and there is no plausible reason given for them to attack Spider-Man again.
"Deeply.." was the reason I went to see the show.
Still think Act I makes great Vegas Spectacle. Around 90 min and no intermission. Perfect Fit.
Some hotel just need to build the theater for it...
They've updated the blog to say their are conflicting reports. A lot of people in the comments are saying the number was still in the show last night.

I hesitate to defend a storyline that really does have huge flaws, but having seen the show, I think there are some reasons for this within the logic of the plot, such as it is. The villains attack because Arachne cooked them up to get Peter Parker to be Spider-Man again, and he isn't shown defeating them (in live action) because they aren't real, but illusions created by Arachne.
Being a relative newbie to the board, I don't want to wade in too deep, but for the record the show did become a lot more coherent between December 5 and this past Wednesday. I think it's okay as escapist entertainment and not nearly as bad as most of the reviews indicate. But I don't think it's ever going to work as a well-integrated musical, because the story is way too busy and the score is horrible (except for two or three songs).
From what I've read the concept of the song sounds legendary in its wrong-headedness.
But I must say that the staging (chreography? gymnastics?) of the furies with all the legs is pretty clever.
