well she couldn't be any worse than Glenn Close
My Mother saw Glenn in SUNSET BLVD. and thought she should be cannonized for her performance!
OY - I'll pray for your mother...cannonballed, perhaps - but not cannonized
Oh Red Hot!
I HAVEN'T LAUGHED SO L O N G AND SO H A R D IN THE LONGEST TIME AT YOUR POST!
(Have you considered doing stand-up?) :)
Possum, I hope you are being sarcastic - I am NOT a funny man...though I do have my moments...
redhot u rock my soxx u really do..thanx for defending that Puerto Rican Goddess known as Rita Moreno.
XoooXoooXooo
I had the pleasure of being in the studio audience for the CD recording of her last cabaret act. Even at her age, she still has an amazing singing voice and can tell a story with the best of them - right up there with Elaine Stritch (goddess extraordinaire!)

Dame,
Why was Rita so dreadful (one 'l', dear) in your opinion in
"Sunset"?

My parents and a whole slew of critics absolutely loved Rita in Master Class @ The Berkley Rep Theater.
I still cannot get past her when she was on Electric Company....
Rita looks great for 70(I believe that is how old she is) Anyway, she does have a great voice but last time I saw her it sort of sounded like a lot of it was gone....I mean it is pretty hard to be belting with the best of them at 70!!!
I thought Faye Dunaway had the distinction of being the "worst" Norma...
I thought Rita was only dubbed in "A boy like that" because she couldn't hit the higher notes.
No, Faye Dunaway had the distinction of putting up with a very impatient and hard to get along with Andrew Lloyd Weber.
He knew she wasn't a trained vocalist--just as she begins lessons to strengthen her voice, Lloyd Weber pulls plug and tears up contract.
Faye Dunaway was NEVER GIVEN THE CHANCE to show what kind performance she would have given in SUNSET BLVD.
