Anyone who calls themself "Hawker" has probably never met the Hanks unless Hawker waylaid them at someone else's stage door

While being cute, and nice at a stage door seems to be the criteria for judging talent for some on here, I tend to agree that the honor of being on Sardi's wall is very diminished given the questionable status of recent additions to the gallery

Yeah, I guess I'm a little late on the Sardi's Wall of Shame.

And who's saying Rita isn't nice? Let's give her the crown for Miss Congeniality then, and save the wall space at Sardi's for worthier mugs.

So, then, there were similar voices of outrage when charicaticatures of Cheryll Ladd were done when she did a brief stint in "Annie Get Your Gun"?

Anybody hear voice outrage that Kathy Lee Gifford's characticature is among those of Lee J. Cobb and Zero Mostel because she made her bones as Regis Philbin's sidekick?

Again, don't think so.

The tacit message behind this indignation cloaked as an argument of artistic merit is this: the only reason she was so feted is because she's Tom Hank's wife and that's not sufficient cause in this star chamber.

There is one possibility--among hundreds--you haven't considered. As do many public figures who have practical reasons to avoid flying commercially but who have chosen not to purchases their own aircraft, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson often fly charter--and not infrequently lease a G-4. As a pilot, it's possible I just might have flown them from L.A. to New York.

I don't really do the stage door thing, either. First, I'm not sure performers are always in the mood and second I don't see a point to it.

By the way did it occur to you that Hawker is quite a common anglo-saxon name. Perhaps I should have been more creative and signed in as Newman Noggs.

Perhaps Chicago is ground training for her second marriage with husband Tom Hanks on the silverscreen in Mamma Mia? Or perhaps she is only aiming for a small role.

I'm not remotely suggesting it will happen but in two or three years Tom Hanks could be starring in the Broadway event of the year. If it happens it will be MAJOR.
