Hey Rob:
I totally understand the need/want to keep this site PG/PG-13-ish, but I am curious as to why a picture of someone in their speedos can't be had?
Comments on this board are way racier, and while I respect your wishes as the webmaster and/or owner of this site, I must admit I'm curious as to the logic.
Any insights would be great!
In advance,
thank you.

The general idea, and as you've noticed there's only a few hard-set rules on content is to keep it in the PG/PG-13 ish age range, so folks of all ages and content preferences can enjoy it.

Very few posts have been removed for being overly vulgar, and that's something that I hope will continue because we're averaging over 500 messages a day across the 3 boards and it's hard enough just keeping up with them.

Easier to keep up with are the pictures though, and when they are of the risque, men in speedos, women in thongs variety I generally recieve a series of complaints from our more conservative readers. In the case of those photos I generally agree. While either one can be nice to look at based on your personal taste, they're not terribly appropriate for this site.

Hope that helps in explaining where I am periodically coming from!

Very much so, and I appreciate your response when you certainly didn't have to justify yourself to me or anyone else around here. (Wow, I'm a real brown noser!)
Keep up the good work and thank you.

Rating the board ? I think this is a good thing and certaintly Rob has the right to approve or disapprove what is appropriate on his website. Rob has done an amazing job with making this a friendly, informative place for theater related topics. And no, I don't need to kiss anyone I don't choose to. LOL! This is about business and reputations.

Personally, I've recommend a LOT of people in the theater industry to visit the columns, as well as many other features. To be honest with you, the more it is kept as a balanced theater board, the more people from the theater world will visit and eventually join in a discussion or two.

For years I've seen actors come to theater boards, incognito, at times and leave, because of inappropiate discussions, getting flamed, nonsense topics or whatever and rightfully so. I could name a handful, but that's not the point. Someone needs to keep a guidline as to what's cool and what's a bit too extreme, don't they?

Rob was nice enough to create an Off topic board for those who want to enjoy some fun and have a more open forum to express themselves. Personally, I want to feel good when I recommend this site to many of the theater fans, theater owners, fellow press, performers and just good friends. Don't you? So, please help Rob by thinking just a little before you click the buttons. Keep this a fun, decent theater spot for all we theater friends. Thanks!
