Robert F.X. Sillerman on Theater Talk talking about Young Frankenstein 4/12/08

Did anyone watch this? I did a search and didn't see anything on it. The interview is up on their website. Interesting. he talks about the high ticket price and how he regrets doing it when he did and also talks about casting shows via reality shows. And he also talks about why the show's grosses are not reported.

A lot of what he said made sense, but what I found interesting was that he said he didn't want to publish grosses because he thinks it's wrong for people to try and focus on how poorly something is doing. He doesn't want people to hope for something to fail I take it? "Everybody is looking into everyone else's pocket" or something like that.

But...isn't that what they did with Pirate Queen? They took advantage of falling grosses to announce they'd be taking the Hilton before Pirate Queen posted a closing notice. I just find that a little hypocritical.

What a boring man!

Susan Haskins: Stop tripping over your words.

Mikey Riedel: You are adorable as ever!

I didn't find him to be boring really. I thought that at first but I think it is just his speaking voice. And haskins always seems to trip over words. I really like Riedel on this show. And I do think he is adorable and kinda cute! I want to know where that ring on his left finger went. He is not wearing it this season. (Does that make me a stalker?!!) I thought Sillermans take on pricing for tickets was interesting. Lowering them in mid February.

Wow. Sooooo many analogies. And that woman is such an awful little rat--I don't think I could be interviewed by her for five minutes without slapping her.

She's just so obnoxious and confrontational in her questioning, which is especially annoying when her facts are just plain incorrect. I know she's the producer, but I wish she would stay off camera. It's like she's constantly getting in the way of the otherwise intelligible, interesting, and cohesive interview that Riedel usually seems to be conducting on his own.

Also, do you think you could edit your original post and replace that lengthy URL with some hyperlink text that won't stretch out the page so?
