Robert Stigwood Dies at 81!

Robert Stigwood was an Australian music entrepreneur, best known for managing bands such as Cream and The Bee Gees.

On Broadway, he produced the original productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita. He even produced the big screen adaptations of both those shows as well as Tommy, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, etc.

He's movie Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band starring Peter Frampton and The Bee Gees was a real landmark.

He also did SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, GREASE and a deep, sentimental favorite of mine, TIMES SQUARE.

Looking at his wiki is astonishing. I had no idea he produced PIPPIN and SWEENEY TODD, let alone MOMENT BY MOMENT.
